i just bought a new p95dc(9mm). i didn't need it but the price was $299 brand new.

it jammed pretty bad before i shot 2 mags(30 rounds). another day i shot 200 rounds through it with no problems. another day i shot about 100 rounds then it jammed again.

could this just be growing pains for the gun? i used wwb ammo.

thing is i know someone who wants to trade me a 3.3hp mercury outboard motor for it.

I have a ruger P94DC. I had an extractor problem due to some gunk making the extractor stick. It left the spent case in the chamber and tried to feed another. I believe yours is the same as mine except the alloy verses polymer frames. What kind of jamming are you experiencing?

the round goes almost straight up in the chamber.

Pretty strange problem for a Ruger. I've had a P85, a KP89DC, and a KP944DC. One of the reasons I liked them all is they had virtually no feeding problems whatsover. But the reason I don't own any anymore is the sloppy triggers on them all. But pretty much, every time I pulled the trigger I got a bang.

I think the only magazines I used were either Ruger or Mec-Gar. If you don't have at least two magazines I would suggest getting another one and see if the problem persists.

Are you sure it has factory magazines? If so, they may be worn out or damaged. There are a lot of low grade clone mags on the market. None of my Rugers will feed reliably from the USA brand mags. If you can get a new factory mag, I'd give it a try. As a second suspect, it might be the ammo. I've never had any problem with WWB in my Rugers, but it's not the most reliable ammo in many other guns.

I have 3 Ruger P series guns now and they all feed 100%. I dislike the sloppy triggers too, but I sure do trust the guns.

...

Disassemble it and give it a pure cleaning, then oil it.. including your magazines.

Try new, Winchester 115gr white box FMJ ammo as well..

Many guns get damn dirty after 200 rounds, clean time, IMO.

200 rounds before cleaning is nothing to a Ruger. A P95 could literally go thousands of rounds before it started to malfunction from fouling. Plus, he is using wwb ammo.

This sounds like a magazine problem. See if you can pin down the malfunctions to one magazine or the other. The P95 is one of the most reliable autoloading pistols ever designed, but a mag with bad feed lips could jam even it. If you do pinpoint one of the mags as bad, be sure and call Ruger.

Send it back, let Ruger do the QC work, not you.
