There is a cz 75 police model for 370.00. I am wondering if it is a good deal?

Side note I dont order guns online because after ffl transfer and shipping it comes out to about the same price. Unless your in Washington state.

Most online pricing seems to hover between $339-$389 for a CZ75BD NIB with 1 10 round mag and 1 15 round magazine.

$370 sounds decent for a local deal.

The gal has it marked for 390.00 and I ask if she would go lower and she said 370.00 so I said Id think about it over the weekend. What has been your experience with these weapons?

Just an fyi I have been reading that they are the best thing since sliced bread. I like the feel and the trigger aint to bad. I just wanted to hear from those who have them...Again.

I don't think the decocker 75 is as desirable as the 75B so I would look for a better price or better yet get the 75B!! :uhoh:

I have a CZ75 P01 which is basically an update of the PCR which is basically a small version of the CZ75BD.

Based on that I really like mine. Extremely reliable, very, very accurate the finish seems pretty stout although I don't like the way it feels. About the only thing I can say bad about it is that the mags are finished poorly and the take down is a little more of a PITA then I would normally like, not that it is hard.

All in all two thumbs up from me. For the price I really don't think you can get a better pistol.

Now as for the best thing since sliced bread, everybody knows that is the SIG 220ST.

If you like it I think you can buy with confidence. CZ seems to make a good product. Mine has fed both ball and hollow points without incident.

This gun was my first CZ. The only thing you need to worry about is whether or not you want a decocker. I don't mind it. The nice thing with that one is that it comes with a standard capacity mag. You will be able to find standard cap mags for your CZ fairly easily. Mine is a great shooter, the trigger was good from the start and only gets better the more I use it. Some people get a snap cap and dry fire the heck out of it. If it is a true police model, it will say so on the slide and have a loaded chamber indicator. Mine said it was a police on the box lable, but it was really a CZ75BD which is basically the same gun.
Visit the CZ Forum (http://www.czforum.com/) and look around, you will find all the info you need to make an informed decision.

Pale Horse,

Where in Washington did you find this gun?

I've seen a few at a local pawn shop, and they were asking $490(??), but shipped them to their new store.

Just curious.

It depends on if you like the decocker....Ive got D models, B SA's and standard Trad. D/A's that cock and lock. Personally I prefer standard safeties...but my main carry is the PCR which has a Decocker..but it ONLY comes this way. Either way...you could do a hell of alot worse.
Shoot well.............

Its at a local range and the owner has been sitting on it for about 8 months. Sharp Shooting Indoor range in Spokane.

I dont mind the decocker I have one on my P97 so its not an issue. I would like to get the cz 75b but I will settle for what I can get my hands on at a good price.

If you want to get the 75B hold out for it, as you will never be totally happy otherwise.

You also own a P97 I see. Great gun also. I love mine.

I prefer the SA version myself, but if you like DA I don't see how you could go wrong with the BD.

I absolutely love my CZ 75BD. The fact that it has a decocker does not make it any less "desireable". It is in all respects of quality the same gun as the standard 75B, just without the ability to carry cocked and locked. Personally, I like the fact that I have a long, deliberate first trigger pull without having to manipulate a safety. If I wanted to carry cocked and locked, I would opt for the kind of pistol that the particular mode was evolved from, i.e. a single action. I'd like you to tell all of the SIG owners that their pistols are "less desireable" because they have a safetyless decocker. :D Or maybe I misunderstood your statement...
But anyway, it is definitely a high-quality, comfortable and accurate pistol. I think the CZ line is an excellent value across the board. $370.00 is a fair price retail, considering that they are going for about $340.00 online, and like you said after shipping and transfer... I don't think you will be disappointed if you end up with any new CZ, even if you don't warm up to the decocker issue.

Best, Steve

p.s. come hang out at www.czforum.com for more specific information regarding CZ's.

PCRCCW, I know you are just giving me a hard time... but maybe that WAS your house :scrutiny:... :D I doubt it, you are quite a ways from Florida.

What I was intending to differentiate between the 75B (with a safety) and the 75 BD (with a decocker only) in reference to their respective available modes of carry, was that for me I am more comfortable without too many options to think about. I grew up shooting double action revolvers, so the system is similar for the first shot. In the event that I ever had to use the 75 BD for it's intended purpose in the defense of myself or anyone else, honestly I think I may forget about disengaging a safety, adding valuable miliseconds to reaction time and possibly making me look stupid in the process, thus taking away even more valuable "cool points". The double action first trigger pull gives one just enough pause to commit or abort (in my fantasy world anyway :)), without adding any additional steps to recall. I don't have my CCW yet, so carry options are a moot point after all is said and done . My 75 BD is for home defense only for now, so a manual safety wouldn't serve much of it's intended purpose anyway. If I had my CCW and a standard 75B, I be forced to start numerous pointless threads here and on CZFORUM like: "Poll: Best carry options," "Is cocked and locked safe?" and "How do you guys carry your CZ?" I jokingly call those threads "pointless" because they always end with: "Carry however you are most comfortable, and train often," or "Do whatever works for you."

And with that...

In all honesty Pale Horse, buy what you are comfortable with and train with it often - as you intend to carry it. Maybe you actually like options.. most normal people do! ;) I'm the kind of guy that always orders the same thing at the restaurant every time I go! :D As I stated before, I love my CZ 75BD, even if it is less safe... I mean safety-less. It works for me.

To mock your sig line PCRCCW, I choose not to decide.

Thinking is hard.

Best, Steve

Pale horse,

I might have left out that last bit about "Carry what you are comfortable with blah blah blah..." if I had paid more attention to your sig line instead of PCRCCW's. See, thinking is hard (for me anyways). :D
See what happens when I get all defensive about my beloved 75 BD! Rambling, incohesive posts directed at the wrong people! Well, hopefully it reinforces the point of how highly I think of my CZ... I'll shut up now.

Take care!

Steve
