Using the S&W 500 Magnum revolver as a platform, how many 357mag round could you fit? The 500 Mag can holds 5 rounds. Would it be possible to fit at least 10 rounds or more? I know the cylinder would have to be replaced, but how cool would 10+ rounds of 38/357mags be. Think about the possibilities? 20 rounds of 22LR?

It would be one ginormous .357 though. I bet that you could feed some hot loads through that sucker too.

Well they've gotten 8 rounds of 357 into an N Frame. I've no doubt the X Frame could hold at least 10.

Why not go for a 357 maximum chambering instead?
Oh...

Interesting thinking to be sure. But:
I have redhawks chambered in 357. Those are as heavy as a 357 would ever need to be.

This is exactly the question I asked of my tour guide at the S&W factory a couple of weeks ago.
The gentleman smiled and said (I'm paraphrasing), "We have plans to expand on the X-Frame platform. Yes."

Think about it.. A moon clipped X frame with 10 rounds of 38/357...Limited 10 could be something a Revo shooter could win. The question was posed to Jerry Miculek and he'd apparently asked S&W about it.. we didn't really get a definite answer besides he'd asked.
If they built one, I think it would be the new arms race for ICORE shooters.. Everyone with 627's would have to upgrade..
Sheesh and I just got my 627!
