I'm looking for a reflex sight that will stand up to the recoil from a gov't .45. I purchased a "low-cost" sight and after 4 rounds the glass poped out.
Any ideas.

Not a .45 acp, but DocterOptic works well on my S&W. www.docterusa.com

The L/T from www.ultradotwest.com is a similar unit with a lifetime warranty that uses a built in Weaver style mount.

AFAIK... www.trijicon.com is the only other company who offers a reflex with a lifetime warranty.

Good Luck...

I had a J Point (http://www.eabco.com/jpoint01.html)mounted on a Kimber CDP for quite a while and it held up fine. I took it off as I was intending to sell the 4" CDP because I liked my 3" CDP so much better. Midway (http://www.midwayusa.com/esearch.exe/search)has them as well as mounts.

I have an Ultra Dot L/T on my 586 (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=270445&highlight=586)right now and it is great.

The Ultra Dot looks pretty decent.
