Hanzerik - is that AK-74 really the newer 74? Or is it supposed to say Ak-47 and it's mistyped?

Is that our military?

looks like a AK-74 to me , with the laminated plastic and steel mag. and if you noticed there's hardly any muzzle climb. :)

Yes it is a AK-74 (With plastic furniture...mags included). The other ones we had with the thumbhole stocks are semi-auto MAC-90s, Our folding and wood stocked select-fire AK-47s were in pretty bad shape and wouldn't cycle very well. Don't know why we didn't bring out the G3. The RPG-7 was also fired but I didn't get any footage of it because it is a pretty dangerous weapon to be around when firing; duds, back blast, tail fins breaking off and it doing 45-90 degree turns 50 feet from the muzzle, etc, etc. If you see the RPG shooter chuck that thing in the ditch and start running...better try to catch up with him :-)

And yes, it is our Military, US Air Force to be exact. We provided foreign weapons familiarization training to our students.

These are probably pretty small if you're using a high screen res, and forgive the funny border as they're off my website.

I took these two back in the early 80's while a corpsman stationed with the 1st Tank Bn, 1st Marine Div, at Camp Pendleton. Southern impact area. If I remember right... either range 407 or 407a. Taken at night using a tripod and shutter speed of about 30 seconds, again, if I remember correctly. The large tracers are the 105mm main gun rounds, the smaller ones are from the 7.62 coaxial machine gun.

The second pic is interesting because the tank fired right after I opened the shutter then elevated his gun tube for the remainder of the time the shutter was open.
