Is it common to have the blued finish scrape off fairly easily?

Mine (USMC) has been scraped and scratched a tad, and it gives it roughly used look to it which i dont mind, it still cuts like a champ and im not complaining.
but im wondering what you all did/would do with the finish after alot of use..

I personally think it looks better than a new pristine virginal blade for some strange reason. The old BTDT look.

It is a phosphate finish on the standard K-Bar and it does wear down fairly quick.
I went to the stainless steel and D2 steel next generation K-Bars when they came on the market.
The finish doesn't wear off these because there isn't any.
The handles don't swell up or get soggy in incliment weather either.
