I am looking at the SN-3 3.8x-22x or 3.2x-17x. My question is what size objective should I get?

I will be doing 90% of my shooting during daylight. However, I will also be using the rifle to shoot deer on a large plant nursury (proper permits from the DNR of course) about 10% of the time and want to be able to see clearly out to about 500-600 yds on a clear night. Would I get much better performance at night with the 58mm objective?

Also, I noticed that the USO reticles can be had in both green and red illuminated reticles, any reason to go with one over the other? Also, which reticle would be the finest that is calibrated in mils?

Not sure about which reticle. Last I heard their illuminated ones had to be thicker than their non-illiuminated reticles.

44mm should be sufficient.

I think the SN-3 is a 44mm objective, and they used to offer a reground 58mm lense that they placed into the 44mm housing - creating wide angle view...?? Call US Optics, they are great people to talk to as you explore the options on their scopes.

Be safe, BSR

All 44mm's are now reground.. as of a couple years ago.
You can get a 58mm objective but it's not worth it IMO.
