Quote from the linked article made by General Wesley Clark (bold text by Ben):

I thought this country was founded on a principle of progressive taxation. In other words, it's not only that the more you make, the more you give, but proportionately more because when you don't have very much money, you need to spend it on the necessities of life.

I thought this country was founded on a principle of progressive taxation.

I wonder which parallel universe he was raised in?

Is he even aware that income tax didn't exist until long after "this country was founded"? :scrutiny:

How does a man so completely ignorant of history advance to such a lofty position in a vocation where such stress is placed on the subject?

Don't ever forget that Wesley Clark was just another political suck-rear end of King Klinton. When King Klinton told Wesley, "Hey, Wes, just tongue THAT," ol' Wes bent over and laid in.

What would you expect from a devious ticket puncher like good ol' Wes???????????????

Good ol' Wes probably thinks the Constitution is just another new hard rock group.

Hmmn, guess he didn't read the 1848 Communist Manifesto, on which this country was not based.
1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.

5. Centralization of credit in the banks of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.

6. Centralization of the means of communication and transport in he hands of the state.

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state; the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.

8. Equal obligation of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.

10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc.
Then again, maybe he read it and liked it a lot.

--Wesley Clark is a "Perfumed Prince." Certainly not a warrior.

--His rabbi is Bill Clinton.

--He is a democrat who has the appearance of national security credentials acceptable to Americans

--He is a pretty face being lofted by the media is an attempt to find someone on the democratic side who is appealing and who has national security credentials.

--Democrats have concluded they ain't got a chance in 2004 unless their candidate has decent national security credentials, hence Wesley Clark.

--Look for him as a VP candidate.

Ol' Wes and Kerry are 2 shining examples of of UTTERLY EMARRASSING former military men. They give the rest of us a bad name. The thought of either of them in office is thoroughly nauseating:barf: .
