poked my head into one of the local shops today to look at some reloading equipment and decided to have a peak at the crack they were pushing. they had four 3" m65's under the counter. 3 65-5's and one 65-6. the 65-6 had hogue rubber stocks, one 65-5 had hogue rubber, another had pachmyr, and one had s&w wood stocks on it. they were asking $399 for each of em. all seemed to be in good mechanical condition. the guy behind the counter claimed they all had been 'reconditioned' by the factory.

$399 seems a bit much but if we had not just spent a load of $$ on a new sprinkler system this month the one with s&w wood stocks would have come home with me.

i doubt i will sleep very well tonight. trying to figure out how to convince the wife we can spare another $400 right now.

Do they have a "Lay-Away" policy?

That isn't a bad price, they probably paid CDNN (or some place like CDNN) $329 - $339 for those 65's, I think a 3" 65 is about as good as it gets when it come to a carry gun.

i didnt ask about layaway....

like i said, if i could afford it this month one would have come home with me. $399 is not outrageous, i would have tried to talk them down but would have paid it if they wouldnt budge.

It might take awhile but better deals (read "steals") can be found. I picked up this 3" 64-3 for $275.
