How 'bout this. Lets take TWO Rem 870's, one a right hand and the other a left. Lets give 'em full length magazines. Then lets shrink them down to a 16" barrel and down till they fit a .45 acp round. Now, silver solder them together side by side-2 actions and barrels. Make one stock, one trigger and one forearm.

Short, light, handy. Plinker? Just load one side. Home defense or 'urban assault rifle'-of the PC type!!! You have high cap of probably a dozen in each side. REAL stopping power-TWO .45 acp's!!! Low penetration inside the house. FAST followup shots.

Anybody got a million bucks or so for a prototype?

Variation on a theme...Twenty or so years back, John Satterwhite showed up at a Soldier of Fortune Magazine "Rolling Thunder" shoot. He had two 1100s worked together with a single stock, with extended mags.

Rolling Thunder, indeed!

Hey, all it takes is money and the "want to".

Why stop there?
Why not two Auto-Ordnance SA Thompsons with the mods you describe?
Now that would get some attention.
