Howdy all,

I have a friend with a slightly used S&W Model 22 Thunder Ranch. This is the .45ACP version with laser engraved grips. No gold inlays or other such foofaraw.

Condition is excellent, as new, with about 200 rounds fired. We are trying to work out a deal, and he would like to know what a fair price is on a used example in this condition.

Any ideas what the used market is like on these?

About 6 months ago I came across one in my local gunshop that was on consignment. It was the model with the S&W large rollmark on the sideplate, not the gold logo'd one. I paid $450 otd in like new condition, with all paperwork and the thunder ranch gun rug. I consider that to be a very reasonable price, that may be difficult to duplicate. It also had the original receipt showing the first owner had paid $729 for it new.
