A good friend has asked me to assemble some handloads for his two identical 3" .44Spl revolvers. He gave me several hundred swaged LRNFPs.

I've got Titegroup, Clays, AA#5, AA#7, Red Dot, and Green Dot on hand. I'm going to prime the cases with Federal 150 large pistol primers.

We've discussed pressures, velocities and recoil and think that the goal should be to get an accurate load that clocks somewhere between 700-750 fps.

He practices sometimes at an indoor range, so flash is somewhat of a concern.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Of those, I have used Titegroup and Red Dot in the 44Spcl with fine results. You might not like the fact that a charge of Titegroup will barely be visable in the bottom of the case, but it shoots well. The Red Dot is a bit fluffier, so it makes the inspection a little easier. Both will get to 750 FPS.

Of those, I would try Red Dot. :)
