Denver, CO Gunsmithing

I need some work done on both my 1911's, both have loose plunger tubes & one has stripped the threads for the grip screw bushings.
I talked to the guys over at CO School of Trades & was quoted about $17 for the check & test-fire, maybe $10 for shop stuff & the labor would be free. They also have a 1-year guarantee on any work.
I'm also thinking about having them fit a spare ambi safety (I shoot lefty), barrel bushing, firing pin stop, extractor & slide stop to have on hand just in case.
Has anyone here used the CO School of Trades to have their guns worked on, & if so, was it a good experience? Would you be comfortable with them performing the above work on your defensive guns? Is there anyone else in the area that I should consider taking the guns to?

Well now we know ;)
I have not used the School of Trades.
Gunsmoke used to have some really good 1911 gunsmiths but I have not been there in a few years.

They are in Wheat Ridge on 44th.

The work is done by the students but it is given to the ones that can handle the the work.
By the time they get to work on customer guns they have enough experance to do a good job, they are also under the ever present watchfull eye of the instructors.
The price can't be beat and the work is done to your satisfaction, you won't be dissapointed, they do good work and it is graded.

I attended CST and I would not have a problem taking a gun there, I would not take a rare or collector gun though. As for the most part all guns are checked by the instructors before released and work is handed out according to student ability. In the event that a student does mess up something they are very good about replacing/ fixing the problem.

As stated above the students are supervised by the instructors.
The repairs you are having done are not difficult and the work should be satisfactory.

Depending on location at today's gas prices I'd have no qualms about Colorado School of Trades, if they are the most convenient, for plunger tube and grip screw bushing work.
At some point of complexity I'd want more assurances or I'd move up to somebody whose name is on the door so to speak - no idea where to draw the line for sure though.
