I am new to this forum and have need of some assistance.

Can someone recommend an online gun dealer?

I'm located in the USA and have contacted at least one online dealer, with less than good results. They just did not want my business.

I am looking for a Taurus 444 Ultralight 44 Magnum with a 4" barrel.

Help is appreciated.

Hope I sent this to the correct place.

R Simpson.

Thanks

The USA is a big place, that's pretty general info. Any reason you want to go thru an online dealer rather that check out local sources? (or have you already?). Before looking for an online dealer, brush up on your state's regulations regarding interstate transfer of firearms. In California at least, getting guns from out of state can incur pretty significant additional costs.

It's one of the reasons I never persued online sales.

Thank you for the reply.

I"m from Northern Indiana and have checked with every dealer in my area (100 mile radius) and none have the item I am looking for.

I see what I am looking for listed on websites but am concerned with never having done business with those companies.

I did contact one online dealer (BigSkyGuns.com) and was very unhappy with their lack of interest in selling, rude is the word I'd use. I just wanted to check and see if anyone had good experiences with an online source.

Indiana has requirements that guns must be shipped to a dealer. The local dealers charge $25.00 to handle the paperwork.

Thanks again for your reply.

As you'll have to have an ffl to ship it to, consider Davidson's - who sells to many smaller dealers. The FOP Range in Pleasant Grove, AL, for example, uses them. Try them via the www.foprangeinc.com site - it's the 'Range Store'.

Just have one of the dealers special order the gun for you. Leave a deposit, and pay the rest when the gun arrives. I am not sure what the difficulty is.

If you're looking for dealers with great prices, I can recommend a couple.

DB Flanagan's Guns (dbflanagansguns@wmconnect.com) - I've bought 4 guns from her and highly recommend her. However, she is temporarily refraining from taking new orders due to illnesses in the family.

r2mach1 on Sigforum (centralap@kci.net)

Steve Pitchford (sales@scpfirearms.com or www.scpfirearms.com) - I've bought 2 guns from him in the past as well.

Hope this helps.

I'm with Tinygnat219 on this one...your local dealer can order the gun

Personally, I like to handle a firearm before I buy it...just to see if it fits. Also, there won't be any confusion as to the condition of the gun. "NIB" on the internet can mean "Not so hot".

I would look at Budsgun shop web site. They have a fairly large selection and their prices are consistantly good. For me, I'd just order it at a local dealer. They can look up the price (their cost) and give you a firm price for the gun when it comes in. A deposit is always a good idea. I've had dealers sell a gun I was waiting for to come in and not contact me. Always irritates me. There are always gunshows and just keep an eye open for what you are looking for.

Why don't you look on their website to find a dealer near you and have them order it for you if they don't have it in stock.
