I am looking at getting a wrist rocket (sling shot). Is there any specific brand you would reccomend getting?

they are ridiculously easy to make. Probably take you the better part of an afternoon to round up the raw materials and put one together with a few hand tools.

Nuts. I was hoping you meant something like a mini-ROCKET fired from a wrist launcher. To which I would come in and add my geeky reply:

"Boba Fett....WHERE?!?!?" ;)

I've always been tempted to get one of these:

A laser sighted wristrocket. I shot a folding wristrocket A LOT when I was a teenager. I got pretty accurate with it, and it definitely could do some damage. I used to pull that thing so far back, it went through bands, which were actually latex tubing, pretty fast though.

Word to the wise - wear eye protection! Just imagine one of those little rubber hoses letting go at full draw...

I made a great one as a kid, went in to the woods with hand-saw and walked around till I found the prefect 'Y' shaped branch, made the band from a section of bicycle inner tube and the pouch from a piece of leather from the local shoe mender, who did enquire as to it's end use? I said it was to make a finger puppet with... he just replied that it looked the right size for a sling shot:o

just get the $10 wal-mart version, then get a bunch of the marbles from the kids toy department.

You'll have so much fun shooting water filled gallon milk jugs that you'll forget that you're not a kid any more. Good fun for the whole family....and cheap *reusable* ammo.

Saunders Double Eagle if you plan to hunt with it at all. I don't know if there's one more powerful. I'm pretty sure you can still get them and replacement bands for them.

I never really thought about it, but I haven't seen a band slingshot in years. I think they are actually illegal to sell here in NY, if you can believe that.

Sorry, I meant tubes. It is the usual surgical tubing type.

When I was a kid I had a 'wrist rocket' slingshot and one of the bands came off while I had it at full draw and snapped against my right ear! It was VERY painful. My friends couldnt stop laughing!

now I want one. Watch... I'll go to Walmart or Kmart tomorrow to pick one up for a couple bucks and a whole bag of either marbles or the steel balls they sell for them.
