Snub BBL vs Ejector -Q.

Sorry if this has been covered before.
I'm pretty much under the impression that a snubby under 3 inches won't have an ejector rod long enough to eject .357 and sometimes even .38. Actually, mostly concerned with .38+P since I prefer handguns to flamethrowers.
What if you get some case expansion and they get sticky?
Am I mistaken? I'm very interested in the SP101, but other examples and models that extract reliably with shorter barrels would be of interest. And what about them thar little snubbies made from unobtanium??

I've had no ejection problems with my 2 & 1/4 SP101 or my 2 & 1/8 640-- both .357 Magnum (shooting .357).

You are right about the shorter ejector rods - particularly on Smith & Wesson's. If you keep the chambers clean (especially .357 chambers through which you've shot .38 Specials) you may not have problems. However tight or fouled chambers can make extraction difficult under the best of circumstances. Also check to be sure the left-hand grip doesn't block the inboard case as it is extracted.

I have never had a problem with 2" barreled S&W or Colt or Charter Arms .38 special revolvers. Keep in mind that I've never even tried to speed load. If it was likely for me to need a speedy reload then I'd simply carry two 2" barreled snubbies.
Also I've never had a problem with a 2 1/2" barreled K frame S&W .357 magnum revolver.

The shorter ejector on my 2 1/2" 19 causes me no great pain, but yeah occasionally I do have to flick a case with my finger to clear the way for a reload because it only came 90% out of the chamber instead of all the way.
Really to be honest it's usually a shooter problem not a length of ejector problem. If you do your reload right with the barrel pointed pretty much straight up and giving the rod a fairly sharp push all the cases should come straight out, long or short ejector.
I would not let a shorter than full length ejector scare me off a gun. In fact you can also look at my experience that its WAY harder to get a case stuck under the star with the shorter ejector guns tha it is the longer ones as an advantage. Of course if your reloading right, then once again this should not be happening anyway.
