Ok, I just came across a recent tread on bullet lubes. What does this do for the bullet? And, does this have to be done with all reloading?

Commercially purchased cast bullets are already lubed. This applies primarily to people casting their own bullets.

Bullet lubing only applies to lead bullets. If you buy lead bullets, they are always lubed, ready to load. An unlubed lead bullet would severly coat your barrel with leading.
Bullet lube for cast is made of wax and some kind of grease, alox/beeswax is the most common one.

I suppose you could say that moly-coated rifle bullets were lubed, but that is another subject entirely.
