I have two of them. For that kind of money, it is a great buy. I wouldn't go so far as to say it is one of my faviorite handguns or anything, but it is a good, solid, shootable handgun for $109. You can even get aftermarket barrels so you can shoot 9mm Luger out of it.

Quite a few people here have CZ-52s. I paid around $130 for one with the original grey finish.

It's a fun gun to take to the range, because you always draw a few questions and odd looks. Someday, I'd like to have a melt down performed as well as some other comfort mods. It'll certainly cost more than the price of the pistol, but what the heck, it sounds fun.

Lots of fun. Very flat shooting which makes it a good gun to win long distance bets with. (Hey, I'll bet you $5 I can't hit that metal plate at 100 yards.)

Overall the guns are well put together, but like most things designed in the Eastern Bloc during the Cold War they skimped on the details, like ergonomics and usability.

If you pick one up, I strongly suggest you get an after-market 19lb recoil spring from Wolfe. Otherwise shooting hot loaded ammo through it will cause the barrel to slam against the inside of the slide, pinging away the metal that holds the leftside roller in.
While it won't damage the gun beyond usability, you DO NOT want that to happen because it makes field stripping and reassembly even more of a chore than it already is.

For shooting at the range, and to have something different, you really can't go wrong. But I don't think I would carry one or use it for a HD pistol.
