My mother-in-law gave me a few items, among which was this old bayonet. The pic is not very good but maybe someone can help identify it. The scabbard (metal( is inscribed on the end, "No. 4 MK 1".

the No.4 Mk. ! part makes it sound like an Enfield. Thus, it would go with the Lee Enfield No.4 Mk 1

I kinda thought it might be English. All I am missing is the canvas carrying strap.
Any idea what dates these were made?

Probably WW2 vintage. After the war the Brits went to the No.9 bayonet, which has a similar socket arrangement, but has a Bowie blade.

Yep, it's a standard spike bayonet for a No 4. There are several variations of it. I think I have about 7 of them.
