I've adjusted the sights on my 1976 Security Six all the way down, but I still find that I'm hitting high at 25 yards. Oddly, it seems to hit square at ten yards. What's going on with this? Is there a tilt to the barrel like a carbine, throwing the bullet up a bit?

Among other things, this could be because:

- Heavier bullets hit higher,

- The front sight was filled down,

- You're holding the gun loosely.a grip that's too small

Cures are:

-Lighter bullets

-A new front sight blade

-Larger grip panels, or a firmer grip on those you have

Barrels (in relation to the frame) can get tweaked such that they shoot higher. Try different loads and if it still repeats this problem with shooting high, let someone else try. It may need tweaking and I can tell you how, but you're going to faint.

Sounds like the recoil of heavier loads may be pushing your shots up at greater distance. Try lighter loads as suggested previously. How does it do with .38's at 25 yards?
