PETA idjits from my school and area got wind of how the good ol boys around here handle woodchucks. these :cuss: lousy excuses for people show up and honk thier horns and wouldn't let us shoot in peace. being smarted than the average redneck, i sugested to the guys that maybe we should "leave". we cussed the chuck-huggers for scaring all the targets away and hit the road ........ that satisfied them, and they left too (apparently not knowing that the 'chucks would be back in 5 - 10 min) . me and the boys went back to my place t, bs'ed in the barn for a bit and were back in the field 20 min later. heres what we managed.

those are samples of the pics i took, i'm too tired to resize all of them for the web, and some are questionable, mods, what is the policy on gory pics? i have a few of balistic tip victims...... i actualy got 6 'chucks, but the other 2 not pictured were unavailable for comment due to perforation by balistic tip.

While I don't see any point to oodles and gobs of gory pictures, they do serve one very worthwhile purpose: They show that Hollywood is full of garbage as to guys getting shot and then being up and around in a short period of time.

They also serve as an object lesson as to why one doesn't get careless with firearms. Bullets which mess up a bunch of meat, be it groundhog or deer, will do the same to people.

Any hunter oughta be proud of exceptional shots or trophies, and post the occasional picture. However, a whole bunch of "Look at me, look at me, look at me!" stuff can become rather juvenile...

As always, common sense and good judgement...

I don't know about where you live but around here interference with a lawful hunt is illegal. Get tag numbers & turn them in to Fish & Game.
A couple of local F&G officers rank it right up there with poaching.

Art- thanks for the insight there, i hope you guys don't think i was just showing off with those. see, one of my hobbies besides shooting is amature photography, so i just grabbed a handful to post, if thats to many, i have no problem taking them down. just thought the ones i posted were interesting, no showing off here.

sisco- i will definatly do that if it happens again. its just so much easier to do things to further piss them off, which may be childish, but hey, i'm technicaly still a child, so i can do these things. one of the chuck' huggers in latin figured out my TFL shirt, so i thought leaving that little note with the target paint would be good fun. they also hate my site, so i know it was seen. ( my site is currently switching domain and all that, so now its just a pic board)

thanks man. hey, another question, my aunt who is stupid has captured a woodchuck pup and has plans of keeping it to raise for a pet. i darn near lost a finger to this thing, and i'm smart enough to know its a bad idea, but shes convinced. what can ya do to tame and feed these critters? its weened and eats soybean sprouts (ironic, thats why i pop the darn things..) but could you get it to eat rabbit food or something? beans are already getting too big to feed to a chuck and shes all whiney about it. i'm thinkin about accidentaly turning the dog loose and ending the whole problem, but still, i need to make a valid effort.

Hmmm. I don't suppose chucks (even baby ones) harbor any diseases round your neck of the woods, do they? In Arizona, prarie dogs harbor plague (Yersinia pestis).

You might wish to research this fer yer auntie.

Friend of mine had some luck trapping them a few years back. Seems to me he used lettuce to bait the trap. Might try feeding that to the little fella ...IF you decide to let him live ;)
