One of my clients gave me this gun.....some old guy had it in his attic and didnt want it anymore, so he gave it to my client, who in turn knows I like guns and gave it to me.

According to the stamping its a EIG Model E 15 Made in germany. It also has some stamps on it just above the trigger.

So Far I know that EIG was an importer of guns from italy, japan and germany but thats about it. it also seems to be made by a guy named Herbert Schmidt in some unknown year. I also want to go and put some rounds through it...I gave it a good cleaning and I took it all apart. Seems to work just fine.....would you shoot it?

I think they refered to these as the Buffalo Scout . They were a lower end import but generaly shot OK and were usable guns. No collector value.

I'd be a bit concerned about yours and the cylinder rotation & lock-up. Check it out to make sure the cylinder indexes and locks up properly. You can see on the back of your cylinder there is damage from the firing pin striking random spots near one of the chambers . Also you can see the damage to the one chamber throat caused by dry firing the gun. A no-no on this type rimfire wheel gun.

Hi,I had one just like it called the cheyanne,Made in Germany by RG Industries,late 60'S early 70's.Imported by several different company's.They just changed the name.worth about 50 to 75.00 in that condition of the cylinder,I sold mine for 130.00 in good shape.

I had one that was pretty much identical, it had an extra .22 Mag cylinder. Mine was marked F.I.E. 15, supposedly made in Italy byTanfoglio. Yours was made in Germany, or at least assembled and proofed there.


I shot mine with .22 l.r. and .22 Mags. Accuracy and trigger pull were not great but the thing worked.

Excellent...thanks for the information everyone. I figured it would be worth like $10 at most. its just a pretty cool gun to have. After I cleaned it the cylinder rotates and locks up just fine...before I cleaned it it would lock up about half way through and not rotate anymore. I am guessing that is where all the impacts came from. I have dry fired this gun maybe 10 times, other than that its been more about twirling it around my fingers....lol.

Herbert Schmidt, Ostheim an der Rhon, Germany is a different manufacturer than RG Industries. RG is Rohm. Compared to Rhom, Schmidt made Cadillacs. Cheyenne Scout and Buffalo Scout were used by Schmidt and others.BTW, " Made by some guy named Schmidt?" Well yes, and I guess my truck was build by some guy named Dodge. :)

I have this same fun but it is a E13. My son was shooting it the other day and something broke in it. When you pull the hammer back the cylinder hangs and it wont move.
