Not being all that technically savvy, I'll ask the questions that I am sure are on everyone's mind following last weekend's attack on THR and APS:

1. Are we still with the old hosting company and susceptible to DDoS attacks, or are we now with a new one?

2. If we are still with the old one, has the hosting company taken steps to secure our Web sites from further attacks?

3. If we still are looking at making a move, how will the membership know when the move is made?
a. Will it be seamless?
b. Will the Web addresses for THR and APS remain the same?

I am sure there are other questions, but these are the ones that stand out in my mind.

1. Most colo sites are vulnerable to DoS attacks. THR is still at the same colo.
2. No, the current colo has not shown an interest in proactively defending against DoS attacks. THR is making plans to move to another colo.
3. There will probably be an announcement before the move takes place.
3a. No, there will be some downtime.
3b. Yes, the domain name will stay the same. No, the IP will not.

Colo is "co-location." You put your server on their network in their datacenter, as opposed to renting one of or space on one of their servers.
