I was thinking about getting one for my hunting trips to various family members lands where I wouldnt mind losing it instead of my prized Savage 99 when I fly.
What is the general opinion about these rifles? Are there differences in performance between say 270,30/06 or 308? Is one caliber more accurate than another in this rifle?
thanks

Light guns(recoil), inexpensive, decent quality, better than expected accuracy
I like them a lot
I'd take the .308, I doubt your barrel would be able to take advantage of the .270 or .30-06

I don't own one but have fired several owned by freinds and family members. The accuracy of all of them has been very good for the price point and I wouldn't hesitate to hunt with one myself.

Great value. Good accuracy.
I don't think you'll find one chambering more accurate than another. Just pick the round you want to shoot.
My Handi-Rifle is in .223 and has dis-assembled many a whistle pig.

Their accuracy can be frustrating. Sub MOA groups one day 4 inch groups the next for no apparent reason. But for hunting they're more than adequate. For better accuracy go with a cartridge with a lower pressure rating. .270 or .30-06 should be fine. .243 usually isn't.

Good shooting rifles .
My .223 would shoot just over 1/2 MOA and that is nothing but great from a $200 gun.
I have bought another myself and won't hesitate to recommend to others. My next purchase from them is going to be a .308 barrel for swapping out on my Survival model .
