hi guys, i am still recovering from laughing at the post for the 500 for cc, but on a different subject, while cleaning out my buddies dads house we found an old colt revolver, i am a taurus man, not colt, so i don't know much about it. i'll post pic's and hopefully get some positive input. ultimately i think it will be sold or traded, neither of us are into collectables.

That's a Colt "New Army & Navy" revolver, Model 1892.
These were the very first swing-out cylinder double action revolvers ever made.
Colt started these with the Model 1889, and made slight revisions in the Models 1892, 1894, 1895, 1896, 1901, and 1903.
These were made for both commercial and US military use. A military model will be marked as such on the butt.
Value depends entirely on condition, military models bringing a premium.
These old revolvers have delicate actions that break and get out of order easily, so don't dry fire it.
Under NO circumstance should any modern ammunition be fired in one, even if it will chamber.
These guns were made for long-obsolete low-pressure loads.

You can still buy ammunition from Black Hills Ammunition and a few other places.
Here is one place to start looking:

Unless they are in really nice shape, they don't go for much. For instance, this auction:
