There are a few handguns out there are are more powerful than even the .50-110. .600 Nitro, supposedly .50 BMG, etc. And there are guns out there built around very hot wildcats.

However, these were designed aroung rifle or non-mass produced cartridges. The .500 SW is at the moments, IMO, the most powerful production handgun cartridge out there today.

If I had $1400 to spare I think I would have my boss order me one in 45/70.
But that will not happen anyway soon.
