My nephew bought a used one today and I'm having trouble finding information on this gun. I only know it's a pump action 12 ga.. Can anyone tell me the manufacturer?, time period they were produced? place to download manual? Also, any comments on the quality will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Savage Arms owns both the Springfield and Stevens name and your gun was produced by Savage.

The model 67 was an inexpensive end shotgun of somewhat low quality. I have repaired a lot of them in the times I was doing such work, and frankly have little respect for them. That doesn't mean they don't work when in proper condition, it just means that they are near the bottom of my list as far as quality guns go, and are prone to problems.

I think their hayday so to speak was in the 60's and 70's . Not sure of exact starting and ending dates for production however.

Thanks for the response. Can you tell me if they made an equivalent gun under the Savage Arms name? For example, is there a Savage Arms model 67 which is completely interchangeable with the Springfield model? If so, I might have better luck finding a manual/parts for the Savage version if needed.

I think the Savage brand name was use on the Model 30 which is basicaly the same gun only in a take down model.

Under the Stevens name I think they called this gun a Model 77

I'm not sure where to find a manual .

I think my BIL has/had one of those. Not sure about the model, but it was an inexpensive Springfield pump 12 ga. He liked it, and to the best of my knowledge never had any problem with it.

Springfield pumps seem to break a lot. One buddy had his action bar welded thrice before giving up..

Model 67 had both the springfield name as well as savage. Where as I agree they are not the best out there, I never had a problem with the three I owned over the years.
