You guys might find this site interesting, specifically this article and comic which have to do with gun rights. It speaks for itself so I don't think any commentary is necessary my part.

First of all let me welcome you, shinju, to THR. You have made a wise decision to join us here.

Yes, that is a rather intriguing Web blog. Do you know if it is always gun related or was that just this one post? The videos are...er...educational. George Carlin always has something to say about the establishment and he doesn't mix words. The other video is full of good information.

Now, just so you will know, newbies buy the beer and supply the ammo for the next range shoot. Make mine .357 and I would rather have a Mountain Dew.

You might want to visit The Faces of THR (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=280154) and The Jobs of THR (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=281005) and leave your mark in these threads as well.

Thanks for the welcome qlajlu, and I don't mind the "new-folk" requirement either. Have an MD on me and a box of .357 as well. I'll stick to a cold one myself and .40. :D

As for the site, I'm not sure what rhyme or reason they use for the topics but he's been picking more 'punchy' ones lately. His previous post (http://www.shreddedmoose.com/news_arc.php?comicID=57) touched on gun control a little bit, but was a more general complaint about society. The site's got a video game theme to it (that's how I initially found it) but it seems to be branching out quite a bit lately.

Carlin's great and I hadn't caught that particular clip before either. I think that was the most serious I'd seen him.

Thanks Oneshooter. Some might think it's ironic to get such a warm and inviting welcome from people who support the possession of guns, but not me. I'm just really sick (and have been) of people that so blindly follow the authority figures in their 'knee-jerk' reactions to anything involving guns. It's like everyone just wanders around with their brains turned off.

~slides a big'ol ice tea down bar with some 45s~ But I'm liking the vibe around here :)

Now, rules...
Dravur is always right... I know, but, it's the law.
You should buy presents for Dravur.... Ammo and guns go a long way in making Dravur happy.

those should do for now.

Welcome aboard. Nice link. I have always found Carlin to be a thoughtful if obscene comic.

You won't get far in life unfortuantely if you believe everything you are told about "rules for new members". A lot of these guys here will pull your leg long enough and hard enough to make you run in circles so watch out and take it all with a grain of soft. Enjoy your time here as most that frequent this forum originated in the deeper section of Darwins gene pool.

Well, I've certainly heard far harsher requirements in other forums then what these guys have been passing my way. But it's perfectly fine, like I said (I think I said it before) it seems like a great group here, not to mention I find Dravur's third-person reference very reminiscent of the Hulk... or a very inebriated Homer Simpson; I approve of both. As for reference to the upper echelon of the gene pool, I think thoughtful support of gun rights requires a certain capacity for common sense. It's nice being someplace that has that... at least that's how it seems so far :D

Yep, that's about normal.

Nice! Half-Life 2 reference, totally awesome game.

And Dravur, people are more prone to follow strange and unusual rules when the one making them is an exceptionally attractive woman. I'm not suggesting you do anything surgical about that, I'm just saying if you maybe hired a female personal assistant with pictures of herself on her profile to make your requests, you'd probably never run out of people admitting you're right, giving you guns and ammo, and sending you any presents you could possibly want.

Nice style in the comic strip. Like a mashup of Oleg Volk and Walt Disney.

You may have seen my pics all over the place.Great, now you got me thinking about that horrible movie, "Barb Wire" or whatever it was called where Pamela played a spy or something. And thanks for the additional welcome guys. Anyone know of any (potentially successful) movement in California to get a concealed permit passed? This state really blows for gun owners :(
