I think the reason why you haven't heard any opinions is because the Challenger model was discontinued several years ago. I'm not sure when, but I'm pretty sure they stopped making them as late as the early 90s.

Anyway, Weaver for the most part has made good scopes historically. So assuming the scope you bought was treated properly, then it should be a decent piece of glass.

I can't actually recall any bad weaver scopes. Assuming it's the equivalent of the present V series, which are excellent scopes, you should be pleased. Some might argue that Weaver has the best adjustment system out there

I'm not familiar with that particular model, but I have Weaver Classic 3x9 scopes on Mosin Nagant carbines and FALs. They hold up very well. Never had a problem with them losing a zero. I love the price too.

I owned them and continue to own Weavers until the newer
Alum. scope bodies came into production. Can't see much
difference between it and the other fixed K scopes. Not
completely certain, but there may have been a wide view in
that model. Like some previously stated, I have not had a bad
one and own over a dozen of them including a couple of
variables:D

If it's a Jap Weaver it's probably a good scope. If it's made in U.S.A., well they were good in their day, but by todays standards not very good. That being said, I hunted with a k3 post/crosshair for a while until she wouldn't hold zero. Sadly I had to retire her.
