Hi all,
Is anyone other than me having trouble finding APS primers at their local gun shop? My shop says they can't even get them any more! I'm not interested in all the commentary about whether APS is good or not, just on the future of APS.
Thanks.

Buy the tool to load the APS strips yourself.

I see no preloaded APS strips at local gun shops; then again I don't see all that many primers at local gun shops these days. I do have a couple of strip loading tools - someday I may find out how long the strips last but the bare strips are stocked by one local vendor.

Whomever is making the primers in APS has always hated doing it. More effort and, at least initially, same price. As the branches of ATK (RCBS's parent company) cooperate less, primers in these strips get harder to find and more expensive. That said, the last time I looked there were still distributors on the web who carried them.

But most people load the strips themselves. AND those strips are guaranteed forever. Wear them out and RCBS will replace them for just postage one way.

Personally I bought quite a lot of the strip primers when they first came out on the theory that they would be hard to get eventually. Now I have, literally, a lifetime supply of the strips.
