Service Members of THR, say hi here:

Howdy folks. I'm posting this to see who on THR is or has been in the military. If you have sworn a vow to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America from all enemies, foreign and domestic, post here.
There's a million threads where people (like me) post saying their in the military. Let's just cut through the crap and have a comprehensive thread for those of us who raised our right hand, signed a contract, and put on a uniform.
OH I almost forgot, if you're working as a city, county, state, or federal LEO, chime up and tell us that you're here too.

There is nothing like the association of current or former military vets.
And for those exposed to combat there is none of the "I was in this branch or that," etc. Death is an equal opportunity angel.
I'm a survivor of Co.D, 2/7 Cav.; First Air Cavalry {Gen. Custer's ironicaly}that ceased existance on 3 Dec. 1968. The story can be found at Military.com >articles>Vietnam> "No DEROS Delta" by Steve Banko III. -Recipient of two Silver Stars.
I'm posting this in memory of my friend SSgt. Joe Danielson, the FO for Delta Company who passed away a week ago. Joe stood by his lieutanant in the heat of fire until the Lt. was struck by a round from one of the 12.7 mm guns that were in the ambush. I looked up and saw SSgt Danielson holding the microphone with a dangling wire. It had been cut by gunfire! A brave US soldier. May God bless him.
