I just bought an 870 police with a pistol grip top folding stock.I know the old ones are made of metal but this one is made of plastic or some sort of composite. The seller said this is the way it came from the factory.I do not have the gun in hand yet but was wondering if remington ever sold the police model top folder that was not metal? The gun is new and bought from a dealer.I asked if it was an ATI stock and told no,it was factory.Just wondering if I had one pulled over on me.Thanks for any comments.:o

If you can, check the part # of the stock against this official Remington Parts list:
http://www.remington.com/pdfs/rempartslist.pdf
I have found that a lot of online dealers, especially on Ebay, advertise "Police" on a part when it's really not.
Also, this site may be of help:

Thanks jakemccoy:Part#202705 says top folder advanced tech would be ATI.I thought they would put something a little better from the factory.I never had anything from ATI so it might be better made than I was thinking. It is a police model gun with factory extension and parkerized.Maybe not to bad for $499.00.I bought my last from Bud's gun shop for $370.00 but it was blued with wood stocks and R3 pad.Very nice looking gun and if they had anymore, that's what I would have went with.Selling my marine magnum and wanted to replace with another police model.
