What's coming down the pipeline from S&W, J frame-wise?

Any chance that we'd see a scandium frame .357 WITHOUT a titanium cylinder? I know that I wouldn't mind accepting an once or two of weight and recoil control for the easier care and cheaper cost of the stainless.

There is also this model with a blackened SS cylinder if you don't like the two-tone look.

Oh my--that's my dream gun. All I would have to do is disable the lock. Is there a reversible way to disable the lock--without a key?

Handled the 340 M&P today. Yummy. Had a little showcase rash, however. Really like the weight, big dot sight and U channel rear sight. Very nice.

They are reintroducing the Model 34 kit gun with a five inch barrel in .22LR.
eight shot cylinder.

Too bad the goofs aren't reintroducing the Model 43 .22 Magnum with a five inch barrel and eight shot cylinder like I suggested two years ago,,,,,,,

Onmilo, I think you mean they should reintroduce the M 651 .22 Mag, but with a 5 inch bbl. The M 43 is a 3.5" .22 LR.
I hope so, too, and have been asking for years. They should make it a .22 LR/Mag convertible.

Yes. You pop the sideplate off, remove the hammer, then pull the lock-plate out with a pair of needle-nosed pliers. On a shrouded hammer J-Frame it'll leave a tiny hole in the left side of the frame; you can cover it with a tiny square of tape.

I just apply Blue Loc-Tite to mine, let it set for a day, then reassemble.

Yeah, a 34 is a steel frame and a 43 is an aluminum frame.
A 651 is a stainless kit gun in .22 magnum.

I am glad somebody knew what I was babbling about.

Does Smith make any revolvers without the lock?

As far as I know, only the 'Classics' model 40 "Lemon Squeezer" (comeback model) has no key lock because the grip safety satisfies the Libs:

Scroll down until you reach the Model 40

For my taste, the reintroduced Model 40 is the cream of this crop. Truly a classic.

+1 on the 40, it's the only one on the page that RonJon linked that even remotely interests me.
