I wish I could have been there.
Granted she was only shooting Low 7, one at a time ,with her 28 gauge single shot shotgun - still 25/25 is a straight in my book. :D
"Oh man! I got really nervous about 20, then a huge knot in my stomach when I hit 23! I had to stop, take deep breaths, shake my hands and bounce off my toes for a little bit".
Then I walked up like you [me] said, like I own this field and busted them next two!"
They shot her hat of course, and this 10 year was beside herself.
"Feed me! I need Pizza! I earned this - right?" :D
It was only a matter of time, this young lady has LOTs of dry fire practice, mounting gun to face, stance, everything.

foghornl,
Hey I am trying to find someone that will adopt me!
Seems there is not a market for over 50 aged Southern Boys...
~~
This young lady started out shooting a BB gun.
I/we were up front about her not big enough to do shotguns, and getting into .22 single shot rifles was best.
"OK, but will I mess up if learn to do the BB stuff for shotguns?" she asked.
She is referring to what she saw me doing with bigger kids, adults. Using a BB gun, with sights removed to learn shotguns.
This is in Brister's book as well.
I/we shared it was best to not confuse herself, being young and getting the correct basic fundamentals down for rifles.
"OK, that is cool, you just want me to learn right".
She gets bigger, and she catches onto using a BB gun with no sights, like a duck to water. She is hitting ping pong balls and learning fast.
With a rifle stock, tweaked to fit her, and PVC pipe for barrel she practiced correct basics of mounting gun to face, stance and all.
I made her a little mat, with outline of feet, for her to put her feet inside.
She did her repetitions all the time. Sometimes she could not do them one night, but she did them a lot!
"Yes I know the .410 is not the best, because I have helped with pattern boards and all, still I really really want to shoot a shotgun"
So a kids sized shotgun and her first shots were with primer only.
Just to get used to the gun, be safe, and the noise.
First time she shot at low 7 with a live .410 target load, she broke it.
She stood there, watched the pcs, opened gun, and safely handed the gun to her mom.
Then she got all excited.
She has continued to progress.
She will use a garden hose with a trigger sprayer to share about shotguns with other kids/ folks...for instance
She really likes to learn, and likes to share with others what she has learned.
Really great young lady, and it is I that thanks her for sharing with me. :)

This 10 y/o young lady was only shooting a low 7 skeet station. :)
