Its been many years since I owned a Colt Python. I was offered one the other day by a friend, that was cleaning out the safe. I paid less than $600.
This is a fairly old revolver, and is a wonderful shooter. Blue, 6 inch barrel, and quite a beauty.

Congrats as you just bagged a $1,000 gun. If it had box and papers it would be worth between $1,200 and $1,500. I got the same gun my wife bought me back in 1978. Papers and box are long gone but I have been offered $1,000 for it more than once.:D

When I clean my safe I find USA mags, Pakistani switchblades worth about a dollar, and .35 Rem cartridges (that I don't have a rifle for). Never a Python. I gotta get a better safe. Joe

You just think you got a good deal. Next will be the realization you need a Python in each of the different barrel lengths, and then the various finishes, and then you will have to find correct grips for them.

At one time I thought I got a great deal on a Python also, now I am not so sure! :D
