Finally was able to purchase my new 110 in 30-06 last night from my local gun store. It was a package deal with the syn. stock and blued barrel. My question is what is the bullet weight of choice for whitetail and pronghorne hunting? Also, anyone else with a 110, what ammo groups the best out of that gun?

Congratulations, we welcome a new member to the savage family. If you have a few extra bucks, get better glass, and a better stock. Most ammo out there for 30-06 is probably suitible for deer. 150gr and up. No one particular ammo works great out of all guns, especially savages, what you need to do is get a variety of ammo and see what shoots best.

Thanks. Thats kind of what i thought, but wanted a second opinion. What kind of scope would you reccomend in a 3-9X40 or possibly a 4-12X40?

A 3x-9x is probably all you will need for hunting, there are many quality 3x-9x's out there you just have to pick and choose. It all depends on how often you are going to be using your rifle. My general rule of thumb is to spend as much on optics as the rifle costs, but that isnt always true. My brother has a .243 that he hunts with and he has a $40 tasco pronghorn on it. Works fine for hunting. But if you are going to be shooting more often say a couple hundred rounds a year, I would go with something of greater quality, a bushnell, burris, or nikon.
