Looking to round-out an order, and am considering the above rifles. Planning on getting a K98, so I don't really need another Mauser, but might consider one.

Anyone have experience with the M95? Is it worth getting? Any other advice?

Thanks.

The M95 Carbine is very light. A neat little gun with a unique action design, kicks like a mule. Uses an en bloc clip like a Garand.

Ammo is still made, but not as available as 8mm Mauser. The 24/47 might or might not shoot worth a hill of beans, but if it does, it's a more reliable rifle, though heavier. The M95 is more "interesting", though, as a C&R goes. It was sort of the M16 of its time: a neat little design that had to be kept clean if you expected it to work.

One more thing: the Austrians used odorless grease, whereas the old Combloc stuff is smelly! My 24/47 stinks.

Is the Mannlicher a carbine or rifle?

So is the M95 accurate at all? Is it just a novelty?

I've got my share of reliable but inaccurate rifles, so I'd like to be able to hit my mark, and don't really need the Mauser oomph.

It was my first gun. It's pretty groovy and pretty accurate. I'd get one for ScheiBe und Laughter. They're fun to shoot.

I'd say get the m95 since you already have a mauser. The other option is that you could get a Swiss K31. They are also straight pull and the ammo is cheaper and easier to find. The K31 doesn't kick as much as the m95 and has great accuracy.

Planning on a K98 and a K31. Just looking for more goodies to entertain myself.
