Watched my first IDPA match this weekend in Pueblo CO - I'm hooked big time!

Enhanced Service Pistol (ESP)

Can I shoot a SIG P226 X-Five Competition in IDPA?

Would a SIG P226 X-Five Competition fall into the IDPA Enhanced Service Pistol (ESP) category?

Thanks, BSR

OOPS - can someone move this into Competitive Shooting please - thanks, BSR

No.

The X-Five Competition is cataloged at
Overall Length 8.82" Overall Height 5.87" Overall Width 1.73"
Weight w/ Mag 46.7 oz

The IDPA Box which all semi-autos must fit is
8.75" x 6" x 1.625"
and the ESP maximum weight limit is 43 oz.

Most club level matches wouldn't really care, but you WILL be checked at a sanctioned match; usually by having a stage in which the gun starts IN The Box.

So if you already have one, take it out and have a good time.
Do NOT buy one for the purpose, it just would not be sensible.

What other reasonably suitable gun do you have or want?
Check it against the rules on www.IDPA.com

Thanks,

I have not purchased a P226 yet so I'll keep looking.

Pueblo runs an outlaw division..for people that have guns that don't necessarily meet the rules of the other divisions..

allows for more people to come out and play and have fun.

maybe see ya at a match down there..

I shoot a standard 226 in the ssp class. Or a HK usp compact 9 also ssp. But the uspc can also qualify as a bug gun. The 226 fits the idpa box.

The X-five is so different from the standard P226 (which I have for SSP) that they should not have used the model number.

BigSound, come on out. Bring whatever you want. More people shooting is always good. Heck, we have even had USPSA Open Division shooters show up just looking for a little more trigger time.

PM sent your way.
