I've shot plenty of it with my .22, but how about for my 45acp? Just for practice? I can get it locally for $11/box of 50

I have a Taurus PT145

Thanks!

Do a search. There are several posts on this topic.

I have a case of it in 180gr .40 S&W. It shoots just fine and not even that dirty as near as I can tell.

I buy two boxes of Blazer brass at Walmart whenever I am there. All they ever have is two boxes, so I buy it when I'm there. For $9.47 a box, I can't beat that price for .45 ammo. I have never had a problem with it.

I've shot lots of both aluminum- and brass-cased Blazer over the years, never a problem. With the aluminum, some individual guns might experience failures to eject due to the lightweight and slightly rougher (external finish) cases, but not in any of mine.

I shoot alot of brass cased Blazer in 45acp. Never a problem, and it's priced right.

Blazer aluminum used to be the only 45acp I shot. Clean burning, dependeable and economical. I shoot cast reloads now....... I know, I'm a tightwad.

I have shot quite a bit of blazer brass in .40 and 9mm and it's been a nice practice round - I too get it at walmart when I can find it - One visit they had 50 rounds of blazer brass .40 for $7.47 a box - I bought all they had but they only had 4 boxes - but They've always had it for under 10 at the most - a good buy for practice ammo.

My Sigs gobble up Blazer Brass...or anything for that matter. ;)

Due to my indoor range restrictions, I'm limited to brass cased ammo. I shoot CCI Blaser Brass almost exclusively and have never had any problems. My bigger complaint is that CCI makes the Blaser for 10MM in the Al case, but not in the brass case. My EAA Witness actually seems to prefer CCI Blaser. However, I can only shoot that at the hunting shack, or one of the outdoor ranges that I go to occasionally. All in all, I like the CCI Blaser ammo and will continue to buy it. My bigger problem is that Wal-Mart is usually out of stock of the stuff.

My GLOCKs just don't like the smell or taste of CCI Aluminum.........

+1 to that. My G26 fails to extract maybe 1 round in every 100 or so of aluminum Blazer that I feed it.

I used to shoot a lot of WWB value packs. That has changed to Blazer Brass, and boy is the difference in cleanliness significant! Clean shooting ammo.

I shoot lots of the CCI Blazer ammo, both aluminum and brass cased. The brass cased ammo is slightly more expensive, but very handy if one reloads. It's only a little bit more expensive (and occasionally cheaper!) than Wolf ammo, it's made in the US, and reloadable. What's not to love?

The cases clean up really well in my tumbler, and deprime easily (no crimped primers, but there's rarely any in commercial ammo). Very good stuff indeed.

I don't buy Blazer with AL casies. I have not tired the brass cased Blazer ammo. I bought 40S&W Blazer ammo (AL cased) and it functioned well with my Glock. But I might as well be lobbing the bullet with a slingshot. So, I do not buy Blazer ammo at any price. I'd rather not shoot, or save up for normal loaded ammunition.

But I might as well be lobbing the bullet with a slingshot.

In what respect? I've found Blazer ammo, in both brass and aluminum cases, to be quite potent for practice ammo. WWB is noticeably less powerful.

I've only experienced on minor issue with aluminum Blazer -- it leaves a bit of a metallic smell after firing, perhaps the heat reacting with the aluminum? I dunno. Hasn't caused any issues, but it has an interesting (but very minor, and not at all unpleasant) smell.

Also, (and this is directed to everyone) don't use aluminum cased ammunition in open-bolt firearms like full-auto Uzis. According to my Uzi-owning friend, the Uzi ignites the cartridge before it's completely chambered, which isn't an issue with brass-cased ammo, but can cause head separations and case ruptures with aluminum stuff. Stick with the good stuff in full-auto guns.

I just hit the jackpot this weekend at my local Walmart. They had 8 boxes of brass Blazer and I bought them all. At $9.47 a box, I couldd't pass it up. The WWB ammo was almost $29 per 100, which still isn't too horrible.

I shoot aluminum cased Blazer in my .357 mags. Even without an extractor groove, it functions fine in my '94C Marlin.

No problems with the Blazer CCI ammo in my PT145 ever.

I only once had a problem with AL blazer and it was the guns fault. A star in 9 mm largo had a badly pitted chamber. The same gun did well with military 9 mm largo and .38 super PMC brass. I now have 9mm puger barrel on that gun.

My glock likes AL blazer, so does my .45 and some of my .380's will also use it.

I've shot a ton of aluminum cased Blazer in 9mm, .40 and 45ACP with zero problems in about 7 different guns. I have had bad rounds in Winchester, Remington, S&B, but never Blazer. I suppose that's just the luck of the draw.

Same here....I have had it through my 9mm and my 40's. No problems in about 10 boxes.:)

barnetmill - CCI makes 9mm Largo ammunition? I just checked their http://www.blazer-ammo.com/ site, and it shows 9mm Luger, but makes no mention of Largo stuff...did they make it in the past and discontinue it?

I've noticed something interesting about the Blazer ammo I've fired -- the bullets themselves seem to have slight discolorations, blemishes, and irregularities (occasionally a little dent in a non-barrel-contacting part of the bullet). I've never seen this with any other ammo, like Winchester, Federal, or Remington. It doesn't seem to affect anything, but it's kinda odd. Maybe it's just how they make their bullets?

my 45acp seemed to love it. We shot about 500 rounds through my Taurus - was very very fun. Even my brother's Glock and Ruger loved it. Glad I found a good source locally - I'll have to make it a point to restock - only have one box on hand now.

Armageddon might be here - need to have defense against the zombies :neener:

My Glock eats anything but I have not really fell in love with the CCI ammunition line-up. Past its Green-Tag .22 ammo there isnt really much to say about it. :(

I stick with Winchester, Federal, and PMC personally, though I have found some Crossfire ammo from Utah that is manufactured by P&K Enterprises and is $7/box of 50 for my .40 S&W.... SO If that shoots well I may have found a new winner as its cased nickel shells :D

I still like it - just to get out and shoot with. I do prefer Winchester, but at $26/box it doesn't make sense to shoot when I can buy two boxes of Blazer for that price.

I prefer the CCI Lawman brand over the Blazer. I've shot plenty of Blazer Brass with no problems but IMO it isn't as accurate from box to box as American Eagle or PMC - my current favorites.

Was shooting .45 ACP, (230gr) brass case Blazer in my S&W 25-14 the other day for the first time. Out of 42rds fired one round had an issue. The bullet walked forward under recoil. It was the sixth round and enough of the bullet moved forward out of the cylinder that it tied it up so that I could not cycle that last chamber into position. When I saw what happened I pushed the bullet back inside the cylinder, opened the cylinder and exjected the rounds. Of course the unfired cartridge left the bullet in the chamber and spilled powder everywhere but a quick poke got the bullet out followed by a quick blow off to make sure no powder remained to get under the extractor.

Blazer Al in 9, 40, or 45 has not failed me in 3 Glocks and a 1911. Price is right IMHO.

Works well in all my autos and revolvers. I seem to remember the .357 Mag JHP Blazer being a really good deal and pretty hot too. It's a bummer because most local ranges here only allow brass case ammo.

I have used Blazer Brass in .40S&W and 9mm, and Blazer in .357 Magnum.
It was all quality ammo. It did not seem dirty to me. I did not notice any difference in any of it within the respective calibers. I say it is great range ammo.

I am a pretty big fan of all the CCI ammo I have tried.

My GLOCKs just don't like the smell or taste of CCI Aluminum.........

Funny... the guys I know from ATK, the makers of Blazer AL & Brass had several G22's on hand when I was shooting it with them...

No complaints from the Glocks, but the poppers and dueling tree, man if they could talk, I'd get an earfull that I could not repeat in here :neener:

I feed my Walther P1 a regular diet of Blazer brass FMJs at the range, never had a single FTE or FTF
