What do you guys think about this pistol grip stock? If you have it tell me what you like/dislike about it. I am thinking about getting one. I like the extra control feel of the pistol grip, and think the "Top Folding" stock would be a waist because I'd only pretty much use it with the stock down anyway. So if you have it, tell me what ya think!

The top folding stock is a piece of crap, from what I hear.
I hear that the six position stocks are OK, and another member on here modified his into a recoil reducing stock.
I'd be inclined to go with a Knoxx stock. Their stocks are recoil reducing, and they make two folding models and six position style. Mesa Tactical stocks are good too, but expensive...

I like it but on a Mossberg it makes it a little difficult to get to the slide release, just awkward, something to do w/ the pistol grip being there to me anyway.

Yeah, I looked at the Knoxx SpecOps stock.

The only thing is, its sooo pricey. I've never tried one though. How good is the "recoil reduction"? Does it really make that much of a difference? Why are the Knoxx stocks so much more expensive than the ATI Stock above? Is it just because of the recoil reduction? I just dont know, $130 is kinda pricey. The ATI is only $50! Im not a guy who likes to buy cheapo crap though. Im just not fully convinced that the knoxx is worth the extra $80.

I just looked at this stock aswell. The SpecOps NRS.

from what I gather, is this stock the same as the "recoil reduction" SpecOps stock, only it doesn't have the recoil reduction feature? It seems more in my price range. If anyone knows about this one, tell me how it is.

Try Mesa Tactical. http://www.mesatactical.com/
I have one of theirs on my 870, and I love it. It is very sturdy, and comfortable.

Yep, provided it will fit your shotgun.
I'm getting a Knoxx Copstock folder for my 870

Yes, the recoil reduction works. Do a search for Knoxx on here. I selected a Copstock folder because from what I hear, it is the only folder worth having due to the recoil reduction. I ordered one last week.

Yeah, it does create problems with the placement of the slide release.
Try Mesa Tactical.
I think Mesa is out of his price range...
But they do make good stuff, from what I hear...

I have the ATI standard pistol grip buttstock on my Mossberg and I love it. I haven't tried the 6 position, but it would probably work great too.
I agree that it makes the slide release tougher to get to, but it is almost impossible for me with the 870.
I keep mine for home defense with an empty chamber, trigger already pulled, and safety on, so the only thing I have to do is chamber a round, flick the safety and I'm ready to fire.
I like the idea of "racking" the gun (not going to scare anyone, but still like the idea) and with the gun thinking it has been fired and not having to use the slide release, I'm good to go.
I have also tried the top folding and didn't like it. And the plain pistol grip is nice for looks, but completely impractical. That is why I went with the standard pistol grip buttstock.

The only problem I have with it (I'm the one who made it recoil-reducing) is that it puts the comb up so high that you can't sight down the barrel. You'd need elevated sights of some sort to use it, or get the $22 set of stock drop spacers from mossberg.com to adjust it.
The recoil-reducing feature was fairly easy to do: I just dremeled out two of the areas between the "stops" where the lug drops into the front half of the stock for the adjustment. Then I stuck a spring in the tube, and blocked off the back end of the tube in the rear portion of the stock. Works great, the stock slides in and out, compressing the spring.

Can anyone speak to just how much shorter the ATI 6-position stock can be than a "factory" Mossberg stock?
Considering this as the wife's arms aren't long enough to properly use our "home defense" 12 gauge...whoops.

On the "shortest" setting they are about 11" - 11.5" LOP vs. 13" - 14" standard stocks...
