Looking through my dreams I found a kit for the Remington "Buffalo" gun at DixieGunWorks. I am thinking about ordering it maybe tomorrow but would appreciate any tales of quality of the gun as well as the company it self. I would also love to hear if anybody outthere shoots this 12in barrel monster.

DGW's customer service is exceptionally good.

This gun, I believe, is a Pietta. Pietta revolvers range from ho-hum in quality (a friend has one with a barrel screwed on crooked) to super good (I have a high-grade Pietta and it is a dandy). Let the price be your guide, as they definitely are price-level graded.

My high-grade Pietta is Dixie's "Shooter's Revolver," and it is a splendid gun. It is smooth, the timing is perfect, the bluing and polish are excellent, and best of all, it shoots great.

I can also vouche for DGW, their service is exceptional. Website is very very good as well, I order all my BP gear through them rather than locally just becuase of their selection.

Pietta's, like he said are either good or great. Mine fell in the "good" i have an 1851 navy in 44 cal and the frame defenitly had some rough machine edges. Nothing that some skill and time couldn't fix, but it certainly wasn't done at the factory. The hand and spring was also tuned poorly at the factory. Other than those two things, everything was perfect. Looking back as well, its not really a big deal, the rough edges on the frame are underneath the cylinder and out of sight.

They have EXCELLENT service. I order a lot of odds and ends from them all the time and everything arrives as described and pretty damn quick.
