Taper Crimp Die.

Is it true that the TAPER CRIMP will increase pressures, so you must back off on a load if you use the taper crimp die?
Seems silly, as you really can't tell how much to back off.

I have never ever heard that one before. Using a taper crimp die will not increase pressures.

A good crimp will give more uniform start pressures. Yes, in a way a good crimp gives more pressure, but not something you need to back off on your charge for. That is all taken into consideration when load manuals are wriiten and loads are tested. They crimp their ammo. :)
