Just looking for some input from anyone with a steyr m-a1, wondering if your satisfied, any problems?

Also, I read somewhere that the key was needed for disassembly, is this true?

I'm very happy with mine. Its a very soft shooter. The key is used to lock the gun's internal lock only. It's not needed to take the gun down. I highly recommend the Steyr A1s:D

I have the Steyr M9-A1...

It's a great gun, and one of the best buys that I've ever made.

No key for takedown...

The lock prevents trigger movement and will not allow the slide to be drawn back. However the pistol can still be taken down when locked. The "key" is a little flimsy looking flat metal part that looks like it's best home is in a trash can:barf:.

I have both a M40-A1 and a M9-A1. They are both great pistols .

I had a S-9, once I got used to the sights it was one of the best guns I had. I let it get away, one of my biggest regrets. I liked the safety inside the trigger guard.
