Someone asked me this, but I had no idea. I thought I'd throw it out to the experts:
What was the first production rifle (military or civilian) to be fitted with a synthetic stock?

Savage put Tenite stocks on some of its guns back in the 1940s. I have seen a couple of single-shot shotguns, heard of double barrel shotguns with these synthetic stocks. My guess is they made some rifles with these stocks too.

Interordnance has been trying to sell a Nazi Mauser with an original Bakelite stock for ages (asking $15,000 for an 'all matching numbers, except mismatched bolt' rifle  ).

"Pops", grandfather on dad's side had one of those Savage/Stevens 16 Ga single-shots. Model 94B, IIRC. Sort of vaguely remember the sticker on the stock that said "Tenite".
My first .22 autoloader was a Rem Nylon 66, got it as a bithday gift, about 1969
Oldest brother now has that shotgun, but doesn't shoot it much.
