Lee Pro 1000 Loader question

I have a Pro 1000 which I use for reloading several calibers
of pistol ammo. I have given up on the Auto Primer Feed, after
all the problems it has caused me, but that is not my problem.
Has anyone here had any experience with the Lee Auto Bullet
Feeder for his/her 1000? If it is a usable accessory, I'll jump
on it. If it is unreliable, doesn't hold enough bullets, is a pain
to change calibers, etc., then I will keep feeding bullets one at
a time with my 70 year old arthritic fingers. I'm always looking
for something to make the job easier......

I'm just now getting into reloading and am going to use the Lee pro 1000.

I found this site when doing some searching. Has some useful info on it.

He did a small write up about the bullet feeder. Click on 'Accessories' on the left and you'll find it.

Thanks for the heads-up. I read the post and if all of the replies I get
are like that one, I will probably pass on the Bullet Feeder. It sounds like
it is more trouble than it is worth.

I have done tons of searching on the topic and it all comes up about 50/50. I think the general opinion is that it works well with wadcutter type bullets, probably because they stack well, but not so well on FMJ. I would assume the wadcutter logic would follow for hollowpoints as well. I ordered the wrong part when I ordered mine so I have to reorder or else I would be able to tell you first hand. All in all I would say the opinions are varied enough that its going to have to be one of those try it yourself and see how you like tinkering with it type things.

Well, I probably load wadcutters about 50% of the time (mostly on .38 Spec.)
and the rest of the time is mostly round nose bullets (partly lead, partly jacketed). In the lack of any raving positive reviews, I think I will stick to
feeding bullets by hand. I just have to stop after a couple hundred rounds
or so and let the arthritus in my fingers settle down. It's probably time for
a break by then anyhow......
