Going to the big ATL tomorrow, no local shops (here in AL) that sell reloading equipment. Any suggestions/directions on where to go, how to get there? Coming eastbound on 20 going to the downtown area. just looking for general items, nothing specific.

Thanks,
Justin

Justin,

I work a lot of gunshows in the Atlanta area and know quite a few dealers. You're better off ordering your reloading equpment on the internet.

Thanks Dave.

As bad as midway rips me on shipping, I like to get it local when I can. I wasn't in the area long enough to look for anything anyways. Thanks again.

sorry I missed your post. If you are coming in from 20, stop in Villa Rica (about halfway to Atl from the Alabama border). I haven't been there, but Georgia Arms is there, http://www.georgia-arms.com/

Ditto on GaArms. They are only about 2mi north of the Interstate.(I-20).

I suggest you call them ahead of time. Their retail room is limited and their retail stock is not that great. They have a lot of brass, bullets, and accessories, but they may not have the primers or powder your are looking for such as Federal primers, or large containers of powder.

You might be better off checking out sources in Birmingham. There is a large outlet in Jasper, if my memory serves me correct.

Also, there is a shop on Hwy 202 just west of Anniston that carries a good supply of components. (they are the retail side of the operation that handles the DCM guns).
Good luck. A decent retail outlet for components is hard to find.

You might look at Venture Outdoors, in Smyrna,GA If you are in the Atlanta Area. They are located on Cobb Dr. (main 4-lane, about 2mi. west of I-75, just north of Windy Hill Dr.)

I pick up the "odd" items I need from Story's in Opelika, Al. He carries a good supply, but he's "pricey".

(p.s. I'm originally from Anniston, Al and live in West Point, GA).

Best sources are mail order: Wideners Shooters Supply, MidSouth Shooters Supply. Both within your UPS zone 2, two days shipping. If you order 24lbs or more of powder, you reduce the impact of the "hazmat" fee.

The shop you speak of on 202 is Shooter's Headquarters. They are where I get most of my stuff, but even they don't have it all. There is supposedly a place in Jasper but I don't get that way much, and Midway rips me a new one on anything I want to ship. The only reason I ask about ATL is because I was gonna be in the area. I appreciate all the input though. (If you can't tell by the sig, I'm at Jacksonville)

Thanks again

Justin

Folks, I'm going to Atlanta in a couple of weeks, for a week, and was wondering if any gun-related shops might be open in the evenings, as that is the only time I'll have to peruse? Thanks in advance!
