Just wondering how many out there own one. Pics would be nice.
I was wondering, if you took one to SouthCentral L.A., would the "G's" in da hood know what it is? Would the "home boys"? Do they even know about HK? I would bet big money that they would all say, "Glock".

I had a USP45C but sold it. A buddy of mine who used to be a Chinatown gangster knew what it was.

Owner checking in. No reason to post a pic. Looks just like every other black USP45 (it's tactical, Vern...).

I've got the fullsize. It is, without a doubt, my favorite handgun. Just wish they weren't so expensive. I would own a whole fleet of them. It is the handgun that I shoot best. That is saying something since my USP keeps company with a Beretta 92FS, a Sig 226 & 225, a CZ75SA in .40, Glock 19, and a Springfield Loaded 1911. All good and accurate pistols, however the USP just works for me.
As far as the gangster thing. I would think if you get a gangster who is into firearms, then yes they would know what the USP is. Pretty much like the average public. My girlfriend, who shoots and has a Beretta 92FS by the way, can't really pick out different pistols that well either. Open a Cosmopolitan magazine, however, and she can pick out differences in pocket books, dresses, etc., that I would never pick up on.

I have one and am very torn whether to keep it or not.
The pistol is very high quality, works like a champ, hits where I aim and has low recoil.
But it is a little too thick for me to transition from drawing in condition 1 to firing. I can't use the high thumbs grip as I would on a 1911. This is my main problem with the pistol and why I'm considering letting it go.
My other biggest gripe is the lack of reset. Firing a G30 and 1911 next to my USP, I finally realized that the reset on the USP was so long, I would sometimes remove my finger COMPLETELY off the trigger to ensure it reset. I actually short stroked it a couple times :( . I have heard, however, that Bruce Gray can fix this issue and this is the #1 reason why I haven't completely given up hope on the pistol.
Still, it's tough to get around the fact that it just doesn't fit me quite right. One heckuva dilemma.

Hey Skunk, out of all the handguns you own, what's your favorite? How do you like your USP45 compared to the E2.

Jumping in because I want to own one.....probably before the year is out....gotta save up a little between the tuition payments:rolleyes: I bought my ex a 9mm compact a couple years back and really liked it...except for that little hole in the end of the barrel ;)

Sold the USP. The Beretta Vertec is pretty ugly, but I don't plan to get attached to this one, that's why I'm not doing any 'peronalizing' on it. The P7M8 is great for carry and is a heck of a lot easier to tote around than the USP, much easier, and economical to shoot.
The Vertec is pretty much my beater gun, but I really like the feel of the grip. The grips don't make that much of a difference in control for me until I shoot single-pawed. Much more control esp in the weakhand w/ the smaller backstrap. Actually the Vertec isn't that ugly if the lights are out or you can't see the grip :barf:
Jury's still out on the cock and lock. if I don't like the C&L I might sell it and get a Vertec IA.
E2 is still my favorite.

I have the full size and compact .45. I have been very pleased with both of them. They fit my hand well and function 100%. What more can you ask.

The USP45 was my most recent purchase. Once I find an ambi-safety lever for it, it will be perfect.

Krept;
I would seriously suggest that you try a USPc. Also keep in mind that the USPc .45 is a larger gun than the USPc 9mm & .40. All your problems may disappear with a USPc in .40.

I was thinking about that too... The full size is just baarely too thick for me to manipulate the safety on and still get a good purchase on the trigger with my finger. A single stack .45 like the 1911 fits fine, so the compact might be good as well.

Thanks Skunk for graciously posting the pics of my 45's ;) Me, I prefer the fullsize. Somehow, the curves on the compacts just feel & fit differently.

She is doing fine.
Most of the time she hangs out in a safe with dessicant packs and other fine firearms. :D
She still shoots quite well.

Krept,
I was in the same situation as you the USP45F was just to big for my hand. I now have a USPc in 357sig and I am just gitty. I don't even look at any of the other guns anymore.

Ah yes, I have A USP45F... to me, the finest combat pistol to grace this earth... i actually won 1000 rounds of 45 ammo from a friend who challenged me to a FTF contest with his kimber match something or other... after 183 rounds, I won 500, then he wanted double or nothing. I gotta give the kimber props though, it would be easier to conceal than my HK, but Im not tradin.
