Several years ago I had fiber optics put on my Glock 17, and just went with the default, which was all green. I've noticed recently I'm having trouble centering the front site, so after searching here for threads I found that contrast was important. This afternoon I put a red front site on and went out back and shot about fifty rounds. I like it much better.

Actually, I think I would like red rear and green front even better, though the green sometimes kind of "glows" in really bright sunlight in a way that makes it hard to focus. I don't really know how to change the rear site tubes.

I use a green rod for low light or indoor conditions and a red rod for sunny outdoor conditions. I've found that those give me the best results.

Yeah. I have red on my front post on my USP45, and it shows up great when outdoors in the sunlight shooting steel. If I go to an indoor range that isn't lit very well, the red ain't worth crap IMO. FWIW, I think I am going to switch to TruGlo TFO's soon.
