Coyote Hunting in SW Idaho

I have just moved to Boise and am wondering how the coyote hunting is around this part of the country. I moved from Eastern Montana where yote hunting was ample and finding places to go quite easy. I am also in the market for a new varmint gun and am wondering where is a good place to purchase a new gun. Cabela's is nice but their prices seem a bit high. I went to Sportmans Warehouse but the salesman who helped me wanted to spend his time bad mouthing the other gun stores. I can't stand it when someone bad mouths their competition. So is there any good yote hunting (and any other varmints), where should a person go, and lastly what's a good gun shop to buy a new rifle where they want to sell a gun and let their actions speak for themselves. Thanks for any help you can give to me.

Figure out what gun you want, look at gunbroker, auctionarms, and budsgunshop.com learn prices. then call Cliff's on 5 mile, Boise gun co. in Garden City and Sportsman's tell them what you know in a round about way and ask for a price, or I have even told em what I could get what I wanted for, and could they meet or beat it, just tread softly to not make guys mad. We have bought from all three but don't just walk in. If you want to run out to the Nampa/Caldwell area go to Al's pawn or look em up in the book, they will order what you want at the best price around. Some great shops around and a few over priced dud's to outright rip offs.
Coyotes are around but they get hunted pretty hard in the hill's close to town. Maybe try out in the Owyhee's, or it's Just a jump to the Black's Creek off ramp, grab some maps at BLM and go hunting. We used to south of town out past the prison but times have changed and I am not sure about out that way now days.
I agree with you on the salesmen at Sportsman's some good guys there and some real jerks. I have walked out a couple of times in a not so good mood after there and then sometimes get good help. They seem to be to smart for their britches and have a cocky attitude at times.
