I am old school.
Never cared for night sights personally, don't have a problem if others do prefer them.
I prefer a proven sight that goes way back, tough, and won't dim with age.
Gold Bead on the front sight.
Just something to think about is all...

I've bought a few sets of Trijicons over the years and have not been let down to date.

I've owned the meprolights, seen and fired a gun with turglo TFO, I'd go with the Truelglo

I have TruGlo TFOs, but I recently shot (and really liked) the XS Big-Dots, too. It might be a tougher decision next time I'm in the market. ;)

I prefer having a brighter contrasting color for the front sight. Current set-up for the G19 is orange and green mepros, orange in front and green for the rear sights.
They definitely speed up sight acquisition in low light.

I have green front, yellow rear TFO's. They are out there, if you look.

You might want to take a hard look at XS 24/7 Express sights:
http://www.xssights.com/store/handgun.html
I have been a three-dot sight user for a decade and a half...but when I bought my first Sig recently, I was very taken by the ease of use and quickness that the two-dot sight system offers. Very fast to align IMO.
Naturally I had to find a set of two-dot that were tritium. These XS sights fit the bill perfectly. I am very happy with mine.
Anyway,...just a suggestion.

+1 (or should I say +3) on the 24/7 XS Big Dots. I have them on both G19's and the G17.

Here's a favorite option among competition shooters--with a crisp, excellent daytime sight picture and and very instinctive 'vertical alignment' night-sight picture.

Truglo's for sure. Got a set on my Glock 19, love them. Super bright day or night. Mine are also rear yellow and front green. It makes the front sight stand out.

Mine are also rear yellow and front green. It makes the front sight stand out. Are the yellow easy to see in low light/dark?

Green has been scientifically proven to be the easiest color for the human eye to perceive. Stick with all green.

Well, that's the reason I was thinking about getting yellow rear sights. I don't want the rear sights to be quite as bright as the front. I just want to make sure that they're not too dim to discern though.

It has been my experience that most night sights are designed so that the front sight is a bit brighter than the rear sights.

All of my night sights are green, and there appears to be no difference in the brightness between the front and rear. They all glow the same.
Its been my understanding that the green are the brightest and last the longest of any of the colors. The usual reasoning behind having different color front and rear sights is wrong in practice. You wont incorrectly align the sights, and you actually have to work at it when you try. The difference is VERY obvious. The rear will not appear brighter, nor will they draw attention from the front sight. If your practiced, and used to drawing and quickly putting the gun and sights on target, when the gun comes up, you get a nice row of evenly aligned glowing dots, right where they should be.

It's all personal preference. Folks have different tastes. I used to use all green night sights. When I tried the Y/G TFO's however, they became my favorite combination thus far. I'm able to acquire the front sight faster with the contrasting yellow rear sights. I can see them fine in low light as well. I've used both and I prefer yellow/green.
The reason I chose the yellow/green as opposed to orange/green (by another manufacturer) is that the yellow will last just as long as green. It's the darker colors (the orange and reds) that lose color quicker.

If I have a defensive handgun capable of accepting night sights then I always put them on.
I have finally landed on Green front Orange Rear meprolights. The green easily stands out over the orange for a quick sight picture. I find with all green the rears are brighter b/c they are closer to my eyes. So they stand out more.
Also, with a dimmer color in the rear if you really need to use the rear sight, you can still see it.

I replaced the three white dots on my USP with Mepro Orange/Green/Orange.
I like the way the sights look in the dark and I'm sure that for function there is no comparison between these and the originals. I made up my mind that I needed tritium while sitting in a semi-lit room one night with my tv on. I pointed my empty pistol around at the door an intruder would be most likely to come in and couldn't see my sights at all. That is fixed with the Mepros.
Yet I am not a huge fan of them. My accuracy has gone down quite a bit with the new sights. They are a touch higher and just don't seem to line up as naturally as the originals.
Still I wouldn't go back to non-night sights, but I would be moved towards Trijicons next time in an effort to get a more natural three dot acquisition for me.

Get the Mepros Yellow Dot - Green Bar - Green Dot sights. They are cheaper than Trijjicons and I have had mine for 8 years and they are still bright. My brother in law who is a police officer likes the set up better as you can easily line up the front sight with the rear because they are contrasting colors and shapes. Just my thoughts on it. Of course I just went with a Lasermaxx optics set-up in addition to those nightsights so that might be your next big purchase for dim light shooting. Good Luck!
